Good, long-lasting logos are embedded into our memory banks everyday, from FedEx to Mcdonalds or Google to BBC. If you reckon yourself to be a brand identity wizz kid you can test yourself against this iphone & ipod Touch app – Guess The Logo.
From the initial screens of the game this doesn’t look like the ridiculously easy logo test that was expected. You have got to know the logo down to the last serif and kern. Release that branding nerd inside of you!

From the ever popular creative hot pot for networking and uplifting comments to support some of the best work out there today – The Behance Network has been working with the Action Method project for quite sometime. This is a clear cut way to keep track of all of your projects, create action steps and delegate with relevant colleagues or clients.
Only recently have I focused my attention to use it to it’s full potential, not only by signing up and using the online setup but also downloading the Adobe Air Desktop Application and iPhone Application to keep track while away from the computer.
This is all free of course, although there is the option to pay for a premium service of Action Method where you would be given unlimited project creations, 2GB of space for any uploadable items and also 10% off any Action Method Print Products. A suitable path for the busy little freelancer I reckon!

Came across a collection of film-based book cover designs via Space Sick Art. Thought I would give it a quick post – while the snow keeps on falling! Also check more on the Flickr page.

Was pointed in the direction of this link by my brother and found it too good not to post. This has got to be my favourtie site to fall into since the start of the year, TV Ark is and online museum for TV adverts, Idents and television shows.
‘The site is intended as a tribute to the work of television presentation and graphics, and to preserve a slice of our social history. Through images and video clips, we present those modest little chunks of television that are never repeated: idents, programme promotions, opening title sequences, public information films, commercials, daily start-ups and closedowns, break bumpers and station clocks. Each item is accompanied by a short written analysis and review’- TV Ark
There is so much choice on this site I did not know where to start. The only down point about the collection is the ability to view the videos, they don’t stream so you have to download them and watch them on Real Player. All good ay?
Happy viewing!

Checked out this tweet from SmashMag, a really interesting overview of the evolution of Apple (Between 1977 – 2008). Each product is shown in sections such from the iMac to the Mighty Mouse. Information about each stage of the Apple products is a little slim on the ground but still gives you a good idea of their developments through the past 30 or 40 years.
Enjoy

I believe it has been a long time waiting for someone to speak out about this… and thank goodness for Mark over at the CR blog and his post ‘Change the record’. If you have no idea what I’m talking about then just turn on your TV and watch a few adverts. Over the past number of years you would’ve come across a lot of quaint folky songs being played along a commercial for numerous global products, the most recent culprit being Audi.
This fad has been running for some time and has been getting away with it. I would be very surprised if people hadn’t even noticed and were just sucked into it, but over at CR they have raised the question – ‘When will it end?’. Invited to the discussion are Dan Stevens, a director at music PR and management company, Darling Department; Parv Thind, sound designer at Wave; and Peter Raeburn, founder and creative director of music production company, Soundtree. Being someone working as a graphic designer for a music production and sound design company myself I found this article most appropriate for this blog. Now I ask you, where do you think it should be going? where are the risk takers? or is it the way clients are looking at this current trend with a ‘I it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ attitude?

The Barcalona based graphic designer has recently updated his online portfoilio with some really nice new work. Prolific typography based work that oozes creativity, be sure to drop by his website and admire.

I guess this is a promotional piece for a new Wario themed game for the Nintendo Wii on YouTube (Sorry dont know who to praise for this great idea!!) As you may notice from the image, it’s all gone a bit a crazy! I wont ruin all of the fun, so check it out and experience a YouTube video with a difference here!

Great website that showcases a collection of the 1972 Munich Olympics work by Otl Aicher. From brochures to tickets, it is an in depth gallery of how far Aichers work was used to package such a prestigious event.

The Oakley Design Brief website has now recently uploaded the shortlist. I am also very pleased to say that my concept has also been included. Check them all out here
